I am a hopeless romantic fuelled by coffee, cupcakes and joy. I am a wife to my high school sweetheart and mom to three pretty amazing kids.
When I'm not behind the camera you can find me at the rink cheering on my favorite players or watching my ballerina chase her dreams.

If you’ve ever googled “when should you book your photographer” you are going to get a wide variety of results. A lot of factors go into this answer.
Most wedding photographer’s I know open their booking availability 12-18 months in advance. Now that might sound crazy, but trust me this is one vendor you do not want to wait to book!! After all the only thing left after the day are memories and pictures. The one part of my job I dislike is telling a couple that I am already booked for their date.
In the last couple weeks I have had 8 inquiries and six consults booked out of those inquiries. Which means I’ve had to turn away 2 couples already because I was already booked. I actually had one bride send an inquiry the morning after she got engaged while on vacation.
So if you are planning a wedding in the peak months of May through October, you will want to book your photographer as soon as you secure your date with your venue, usually 15- 18 months . For those planning on November to April you have a little more leeway, your goal should be around that 12 month mark. Keeping in mind that you will need time to do your engagement session.
If you are past this time frame, don’t panic. Reach out to your favourite photographer now. If they are unavailable ask them for recommendations for a wedding photographer with similar style.
