A MCKENZIE CROSSING DYI WEDDING

I love when couples choose a meaningful spot to get married. These two spend alot of time camping and floating down the river. So it was only fitting to get married here. We also did their engagement session down here as well almost one year to the day before their wedding. You can see it here.

The first thing I noticed about Dustin and Katelyn were their zest for life. They exude happiness and joy. I just love them. I can’t wait to work with them again and again. Their wedding was one I have been looking forward to since they booked me a year and half ago.

The day started out so relaxed. Which totally surprised me because the night before the wedding a huge wind storm came through and totally destroyed the tent reception that was already set up. However, everyone pulled together and got it all set back up and you would have never known anything happened. Katelyn and Dustin were cool, calm and collected. They knew that marrying each other was the only thing that really mattered. The ceremony was THE most romantic and heartfelt ceremony’s I have ever had the pleasure of witnessing. Katleyn’s uncle officiated and there was not a dry eye on the beach as they recited their vows.

Since the ceremony and reception were later the light was perfection for all their portraits.  We actually went out THREE different times. Once right after the ceremony, then just before the first dance and again after the formal part of the reception. They were willing to do anything to get the perfect shot. Like hike up a hill and stand up in a canoe. They have so much variety in their images it’s crazy. I have so many new favourite images it was hard to narrow it down for the blog.

To the newly Mr & Mrs Andrew. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for inviting me to your lives. I have enjoyed getting to know you and your families immensely. I wish you a lifetime of love and happiness. Congratulations!! ps Dustin you still owe me that shot 😉
